Karin Bejerano | Advisory Board
Karin Bejerano holds a BFA degree in Dance from the State University of New York at Purchase. She received additional training at The David Howard Dance Center and Broadway Dance Center. She was a scholarship student at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and José Limón Summer Dance Intensives. She has performed with modern dance companies Houlihan and Dancers, Ballet Randolph and Next Step Dance and in numerous regional theater productions including; West Side Story (Velma) Company in Concert (April) Steel Pier, Sweet Charity, Evita, The Pajama Game and Me and My Girl. She performed for a decade with Dancesation Entertainment, under the direction of Katie Marlow and Billy Fajardo. Her choreographic credits include numerous school and professional pieces and musicals, works for local dance companies, charity events and corporate functions. Mrs. Bejerano is a full-time faculty member of New World School of the Arts High School Dance Division, where she teaches ballet, jazz, dance composition and yoga for dancers. She has also taught for the Ailey Camp Miami, Miami City Ballet Summer Intensive, Joffrey Ballet School of NY Miami Summer Intensive, MAD Dance Summer Intensive, the National High School Dance Festival and the Dance NOW! World Dance Summer Intensive. She served as director of the Dance Strand at the Academy of Arts and Minds and Directed the program’s performing ensemble and summer dance camp, she served as the Head of Musical Theater Dance at the University of Miami, and adjunct dance teacher for the Musical Theater Division of New World School of the Arts. Karin is a member of the Dade Association of Dance Educators, the Florida Dance Education Organization, and the National Dance Education Organization. Mrs. Bejerano is certified through the Florida Department of Education to teach Dance in grades K-12, and through Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 certified yoga instructor.
