DeLane Doyle | Composer
DeLane is a composer, percussionist, and educator based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he serves on the faculty of Applied Percussion at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. He has served as a dance accompanist at Interlochen Center for the Arts, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. DeLane’s compositions have been performed in collaboration with Interlochen, Traverse City Dance Project, Dance NOW! Miami, and in a revival of Anna Halprin’s Circle of the Earth, set by Jamie Mchugh. As a performer, DeLane has given concerts in Carnegie Hall, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Beijing, and Shenyang. His performance in Stratford Ontario included the Canadian Premiere of Nebojsa Zivkovic’s Sandy the Hurricane. As a strong advocate for new music, DeLane has shared the stage with Chicago’s Fifth House Ensemble, Sound Out Loud Ensemble, and Clocks in Motion new music ensemble. DeLane has performed as a solo artist in numerous Percussive Arts Society Day of Percussion events, won runner up in the 2015 Wyoming Symphony Young Artists Competition, and was a Finalist in the 2014 UW-Madison Concerto Competition. DeLane studies musical outside the western classical tradition, including musics from Brazil, Cuba, India, and the Middle East. His electronic music was recently recognized by Spartan Records as the grand prize winner of the Square Peg Round Hole remix competition. DeLane received a B.M. in Music performance from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017, where he studied with Anthony DiSanza, Todd Hammes, and Tom Ross, Mark Goodenberger, Neeraj Mehta, Terry Gunderson, and Donald Skoog.
